Unity, makers of the popular game engine, announced earlier this week it’s getting ready to levy some pretty significant fees on developers , causing many to rethink whether it makes more sense to actually go with the main competition, Unreal Engine from Epic Games. It seems Epic isn’t wasting any time to help transition those creating projects for Apple Vision Pro.

Joy Way, the studio behind parkour action-shooter STRIDE (2022), announced that high-flying follow-up STRIDE: Fates is a “full-fledged sequel” to the original game, and it’s coming first to Quest this holiday season. In addition to throwing out a new gameplay trailer, the studio also released more info on the game’s narrative: Step into the shoes of a parkour spec-ops officer.

Meta Avatars in Horizon Worlds now have virtual legs. If you launch Horizon Worlds and look in the mirror in the menu space, you'll see your avatar's full body, and you'll see it for other people too when you enter a world. The company's virtual avatars had previously faced widespread ridicule for their upper-body-only appearance. If you look down however you still won't see your own legs.

Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord will launch next month for PSVR 2 and Quest with crossplay support. During tonight's State of Play presentation , Sony revealed the upcoming mission-based co-op game will arrive just before Halloween. Developed by nDreams, Rise of the Ghost Lord sees you fighting the titular villain to save San Francisco, working with friends to solve puzzles, trap ghosts and stop the March of the Malevolent.

Capcom confirmed that the VR Mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake will arrive 'this winter' in a new trailer that premiered during today's PlayStation showcase. 0:00 / 1× It's the first confirmation of any rough release window for the VR Mode, which we got our first look at back in May. However, there's still no specific release date set – fingers crossed it makes its way onto headsets before the year is out.

Augmented reality (AR) training firm Red 6 and Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace firm, have finalised a series of tests for an immersive fighter jet trainer. In the exercises, the companies used a Boeing TA-4J aircraft to simulate scenarios during air combat, setting the stage for integrating and trialling the system on a T-7 advanced trainer.

Some AAA games are being ported to iPhone 15 Pro and high-end iPads, meaning they should also be playable on a virtual screen in Apple Vision Pro. During Apple's September event livestream this week, the company announced that Assassin's Creed Mirage, Death Stranding, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 4 Remake - AAA titles currently only available on consoles and PC - are being ported to the new iPhone 15 Pro, as well as iPad models with an M1 or M2 chip.
