I’ve been in pursuit of the ultimate AR and VR experience since 2007, that is when I realized this is what’s going to change not just how we do computing, but how we interact with the world. Eventually, that company was acquired by Apple and became the foundation for the ARKit team , so that was a nice closure.

So we conceptualized ‘haptic media’ fairly broadly, enough that it includes devices like Apple Watch along with Q*bert arcade cabinets. For me, as a child of the 80s and 90s, I’ve been thinking about how the body migrates into virtual space for quite a while now, so I have a preference for other cultural touchstones I prefer.
