Sony has officially announced that John Kodera has stepped down as president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), making way for previous SIE deputy president Jim Ryan to take the position. Like Kodera before him, Ryan will report directly to Kenichiro Yoshida, president and CEO of Sony Corporation.

Despite Sony being pleasantly surprised by its official PSVR sales figures – with the nearly 1 million units sold since its October 2016 launch – it’s difficult to get a handle on market penetration for VR hardware to date.
Sony (PSVR) is clearly leading and is taking one third of the whole market. Sony is followed by Facebook (the Oculus platform) and Google (Day Dream, Card Board, Tilt Brush, etc.); neither company has a VR user base anywhere close to Sony’s, and their products are either at the low end or a bit too expensive.
A year ago, in response to Sony consistently delivering high-quality exclusives for PS4, Microsoft made a commitment to rejuvenating its first-party game development efforts and went on a shopping spree, acquiring a handful of respected studios to bolster its first-party game development talent under the Xbox Game Studios banner.

Even though the game originally came out back in 2011 it still holds up incredibly well as one of the absolute best and most popular roleplaying games of all-time. It’s really happening. As of now it’s only confirmed for the PlayStation VR (PSVR) headset, but we have a feeling that it will come to Rift and/or Vive eventually.
