With the recent news that Unreal Engine was permanently waiving engine royalties for the first $1 million in app revenue, we were reminded of a similar program for VR apps based on Unreal Engine 4 that Oculus established back in 2016. Meta will recommend that developers use the built-in OpenXR support of Unity and Unreal from next week. The news comes shortly after we reported on developer frustration that Meta's Unity and Unreal integrations, which are described as using OpenXR, block other PC VR headsets. What Is OpenXR? Epic Games’ Kim Libreri today took to the stage at Google’s I/O conference to announce Unreal Engine support for the newly announced Daydream Android VR platform, what’s more is that it’s available right now.

Magic Leap has launched the SDK for the device’s Lumin OS , with support for Unity and Unreal engines.
