Having participated in a VR tournament using this cutting-edge headset, I can honestly say that Oculus’ hard work is apparent.

Earlier this year, Google announced that it had acquired Owlchemy, though so far the company seems to be very hands-off—there’s no mention of Google anywhere on Vacation Simulator’s official page, and the studio is promising support for all major PC VR headsets: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PSVR, with a launch date set for 2018.

Google reportedly asked Meta to partner and "contribute to" its upcoming XR platform, but Meta said no. Meta has been working on it for at least seven years, as it first arrived in 2018's Oculus Go. But less than two years later in late 2019 Google abandoned the Daydream platform, and no other standalone headset ever used it.
