Oculus Go, the company’s low-end standalone VR headset, was announced back in October, 2017, and is said to be launching in “early 2018.” Oculus is holding two sponsored sessions, one of which promises an overview of Oculus’ roadmap for 2018 , and the other is about designing VR content for player embodiment.

Insomniac Games will soon no longer be an independent studio thanks to its acquisition by Sony Worldwide Studios. And today the studio has announced another, this time for Magic Leap with Strangelets. . Before that happens the developer released Oculus Rift exclusive Stormland earlier this month.

Strangelets is Insomniac’s second ML One title, which follows December the release of Seedling (2018) , a game that puts you in the shoes of a space cadet tasked with repairing a dying galactic ecosystem due to the effects of ‘The Schmelling Incident,’ a catastrophic cosmic event.

Release date : previously late 2018, now 2019. We don’t know much about gameplay mechanics yet, but it’s possible the Magic Leap One release of Angry Birds: FPS – First Person Slingshot may hold some answers. The studio previously targeted an early 2018 release, although now it seems it’s heading towards 2019.

I hoped that that comparison was dead in 2018, but it seems that it still has lots of fans. Notice that I’m talking about Autumn and not Winter because I’ve been there during the real Winter of VR, in 2017-2018, and I can tell you that the vibes were totally different. The situation is constantly evolving.

Sony invests $250M in Epic Games. Sony has announced that it has made a big investment of $250M in Epic Games through one of its subsidiaries. The investment gives Sony a minority stake in Epic that now is evaluated at more than $17B. And Sony for sure wants to have a stake in the metaverse. Top news of the week.
