The startups formerly known as Ultrahaptics and Leap Motion appear to be heading in separate directions again after 5 years together ended in significant layoffs. In May 2019, Ultrahaptics bought Leap Motion to merge their complementary ideas – a haptic effect produced through ultrasound with industry-leading hand tracking.

We may know the field of view of Apple AR headset. Apple has killed its AR glasses project… maybe. A piece of unexpected news has shaken the XR communities this week: according to a report on Digitimes Taiwan, Apple has abandoned its AR/VR glasses project and all the members of the team have been re-allocated in other teams. AR is still alive, Apple will still release its AR glasses.

Jokes apart, since it is “just” an evolution of first gen, maybe we’ll be able to see some announcement in 2019 and release in 2019-2020. This is fascinating, but there is the problem is that adding weight there, would make the device uncomfortable; It is a slot to add Leap Motion. We’ll see.
