Multiple reports seem to confirm that Oculus is actually starting the production of a new Oculus Quest headset, with an expected release date in 2021. While we have not even started using 5G, companies like Samsung (and Nokia) are already thinking about the next-generation 6G that could enable holograms and smart twins.

In February 2021, ARCore debuted for developers and introduced AR Foundation, which opened the platform up across Android devices. Google now supports numerous Android smartphones such as Asus, Lenovo, LG, Moto, Motorola, OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, Vivo, Infinix, Tecno, Sharp, and Xiaomi.

This week in XR hasn’t had any explosive news, but it was interesting nonetheless: in particular we had cool info on AR glasses, with some news from Kura, Lynx, and Samsung. Samsung AR glasses concept has been leaked. Popular Twitter leaker WalkingCat has leaked two trailer videos about two AR glasses by Samsung.

So with this LiDAR that Apple is pushing pretty hard -- I'm pretty sure Google is going to follow suit pretty quickly, probably one year behind, and then they're going to have LiDAR on their top end phones, probably coming to Samsung -- but try-on is going to be made really possible, try-on of suits. Because it's in a web, obviously Unreal.
