They had some hype a few years ago, also because Magic Leap, in the beginning, hinted at the fact that it would have used them, but then they revealed themselves to be too unpractical for AR.

According to him, Meta’s master plan is to enter the AR field in 2024 with the glasses codenamed Project Nazare , which will weigh around 100g, be connected to an external computational unit wirelessly, and feature some sensors (like eye-tracking).
