So much so that SK hynix this week is very publicly announcing that the company's high-bandwidth memory (HBM) production capacity has already sold out for the rest of 2024, and even most of 2025 has already sold out as well. This leaves Samsung as the only member of the group not to comment on HBM demand so far.

Another leak regarded the release date: an Amazon listing put the availability date of the Quest 3 starting from October, 10th. First of all, Google has to keep the work on the headset very secret also internally , because Samsung is afraid that Google will steal its expertise to build a competing product.

The collaboration between Microsoft and Samsung is now over. The later departure of Alex Kipman seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for the AR glasses, but a new rumor brought a bit of hope: Microsoft seemed to work together with Samsung to design consumer-oriented AR glasses. Anyway, things have not gone as we all hoped.

The Meta Quest operating system is a fork of the open-source core of Android (known as AOSP), a similar strategy to Amazon's Fire OS for its Fire tablets. It runs all the games and experiences that UploadVR Jamie Feltham Flash forward to early 2023, and Samsung announced that it was working on XR hardware, with Google handling the software.
