Meta is in talks with Magic Leap over a potential "multiyear agreement", the Financial Times reports. The original Magic Leap One launched in 2018 as the first AR headset available to consumers, priced at $2300. Of the big tech giants only Microsoft bet on transparent optics, and HoloLens 2 is now almost three years old.

Top news of the week (Image by HP) Microsoft officially drops support for its Mixed Reality headsets Microsoft has just released the infamous Windows 11, version 24H2 update. I think this speaks a lot.

Meanwhile, Microsoft and Magic Leap have opted for a bulkier goggles form factor targeted at businesses and government entities, hoping to eventually miniaturize the tech for consumers. They’re incapable of delivering the most appealing use cases that AR glasses eventually promise.
