An Amazon ad appearing on the streaming platform Peacock shows the Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S and the caption: “Meta Quest, starting at $299.99”. Regarding the actual release date, we have also a rumor: someone spotted on the Australian Amazon page an entry about the Quest 3S and the availability date being October, 16.

The combination of Quest 3 and Quest 3S sales on Amazon US was around 146,000 headsets, which is absolutely a good number, but it is 14% less than what Quest 3 and Quest 2 sold last year. Following its release on the Oculus Store, were thrilled to bring this fast-paced space adventure to the Steam community.

Every year I like to write a detailed report about all the major news from Oculus/Facebook/Meta Connect. But maybe we can compare it to the moment Palmer Luckey launched the Kickstarter of the Oculus DK1 : it’s the start of something new. I think the comparison with the early Oculus DK1 prototype holds for many things.

Meta promised to put on sale glasses similar to that at an acceptable price before 2030. They use a neural wristband as input mechanism. A few selected people tried them and came out excited about them. The news about Orion spread like wildfire and created hype in the tech communities. A Creator Platform for next-gen to ‘Socialize.’

I also am invested in Apple competitors, Qualcomm, Snap, Microsoft, Amazon, and about 50 other companies in a diverse portfolio. That said, I’m very bullish about Apple and expect it to be a lot bigger by 2030 than it is today, because of this strategical shift underway. Just get Amazon’s latest iPhone app.

Oculus Go came out with this $199 headset – this really inexpensive headset — and they sold millions of these units. And we also look at consumer software numbers as a whole. Which still has its uses!
