I mean, besides the Oculus Quest 2, there’s hardly anything to get locally.
As someone who has spent a lot of time using different PCVR controllers like Wands, Index, Windows MR, and different versions of Oculus Touch, I wondered: how would these Sword controllers compare? Pimax headset listed on Amazon (Image by Amazon, provided by Rob Cole). Google searches are very revealing.
I expect the smartglasses from Facebook, first of all, to be Facebook-branded (so, goodbye Oculus), to be very stylish (remember that Luxottica is the leading company for glasses and sunglasses), and to be able to connect to the smartphone without a tether. while we have seen the complicated life of Oculus hands-on booths at Best Buy.
I can ask Google questions now; Voice, Amazon, Alexa, and Google Voice. And I got the Oculus Go, thinking, “Oh, this is gonna be great for VR.” And so when the Oculus Quest came out, we kind of said, “We’ll just wait, it’s not going to be as good.” It’s not in context to my world.

Mostly 3D printed motorized “shoes” you wear while playing a virtual reality game by u/braingame26 in oculus Example Reddit post with DIY motorized shoes I could build a version that works for my giant US size 14 shoes and then woe to be anybody who’s got a women’s 6 and trying to put that version on [laughs].
Oculus and Respawn Entertainment teased it in 2017 at OC4 describing it as an AAA war game. Throughout this year, we got always more info about it: at first the name, then the setting (WWII), then compatible platforms (both Oculus Store and Steam), and finally, this week, even some info on the multiplayer modes. I can’t guarantee that these predictions will come out to be true (I always joke about the fact that I miss many of the predictions about Meta/Oculus), but I think they will be worth reading anyway to understand what can be the trends to look for in this new year. Me wearing my branded Oculus Quest 2. So… let’s start!
What I’m not a big fan of is the overall shape of the headset, which seems a mix of Oculus Go, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest 3. There is also the USB-C port to charge the device (with its typical Oculus-logo shape that was there also on Quest 3) and a tracking camera. And what looks like a tiny microphone.
It helps that a lot of the big companies, HTC, Oculus, Lenovo, they’re pivoting to enterprise. And not everybody understands the plans, especially if it’s a public building, and now you have to bring in people from local government.
