Wireless solutions such as TPCast are already available for the Vive and Rift, and the announcement of an official Vive Wireless Adaptor from HTC at CES 2018 indicates further momentum in this area , but the backpack PC still has valid use cases. Most commonly, that means adding three or more HTC Vive trackers strapped to their body. HTC did tease a self-tracking Vive Tracker for later this year, but the pricing hasn't yet been revealed. Try placing it as far away from you as possible facing downward, ideally in a phone mount (you can find many on Amazon).

HTC has maybe been the virtual reality company that has shown the most interesting things at this MWC. From the talk, it is clear that HTC is betting a lot on these new technologies and envisions a future where all of us will wear these devices every day. He has a point. Let’s start! Of course, Microsoft and Amazon are observing the situation: in my opinion, Microsoft will wait a bit , considering its focus on AR enterprise with HoloLens, while Amazon could improve its already existing offering of glasses connected with Alexa. Its problem is the price: it is very expensive and it is intended for big corporates.
