The community is not happy with this news, but another piece of news spread this week by VR magazines has given us some hope. Someone has made a WebAR exporter for Unity. I have detailed it in this post , and it was very cool because it let you create WebVR experiences directly from the tool that we develop always use, that is Unity.

This week has been pretty crazy: It all started with Facebook approving my silly The Unity Cube application (an application with just a cube) on App Lab. The stocks of the headset are becoming empty on its main stores (Oculus website, Lenovo online store, Amazon US, etc…) and Facebook has stated that “it won’t replenish them”.

Amazon Lumberyard becomes opensource. Amazon has launched some years ago its 3D engine called Lumberyard, derived from Crytek’s Cryengine. Now, in what seems a desperate move to become relevant in a field dominated by Unity and Unreal Engine, it has made this engine opensource with the name Open 3D Engine.

bHaptics made it very easy for the developers to implement it thanks to a Unity prefab that must just be dragged into your project. As soon as I released the magazine, I could feel the haptic sensation of something falling down through my back , as something really slipped into a bag there.
