As a consultant, I am receiving many requests for remote collaboration tools now during the lockdown, and with my partners Massimiliano Ariani and SIDI , I am also hosting some workshops in VR. This means that you can host on AWS your own Hubs instance, with your own custom avatars, with your own custom worlds, with your own rooms.

I couldn’t justify it but began hunting online for a more reasonably marked-up Quest – which I eventually found on the local Amazon site. This was a conscious decision made after using the Vive, a WMR and my Quest for a VR Art workshop at a local art studio. Right now the biggest issue with the Quest is the lack of educational content.

Previous experience modifying headsets includes the original HTC Vive and Google’s original Daydream , so I check my Amazon account and quickly find some old orders for aftermarket face cushions and industrial strength Velcro I can use to secure the cushion to the 3D printed plastic base. .
