Facebook has deep expertise on AR and VR (I think we all know it), while Luxottica, that is the worldwide leader in glasses manufacturing (it is the brand behind Rayban, for instance), for sure knows how to create glasses that consumers want to wear. Apple has killed its AR glasses project… maybe. A piece of unexpected news has shaken the XR communities this week: according to a report on Digitimes Taiwan, Apple has abandoned its AR/VR glasses project and all the members of the team have been re-allocated in other teams. AR is still alive, Apple will still release its AR glasses.
