According to a report from Business Insider , earlier this year Apple was on the verge of acquiring LeapMotion, but the deal fell through days before it was expected to close. Meta is rolling out update v37 for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 bringing quality-of-life improvements like interface tweaks and tracking support for the Apple Magic Keyboard. The feature definitely reminds of us some excellent hand-tracking interaction concepts shared with us by LeapMotion (now Ultraleap) back in 2018.
LeapMotion (now Ultraleap ) has been using IR illuminators for VR hand tracking for ten years now, and Apple Vision Pro has two IR illuminators on the front too.
