Microsoft has killed it (after having basically abandoned it) because it had to perform a spending review given the bad economic conditions. First of all, it seems that the headset is not a new product, but that Apple has been working on it for 7 years.

Texas’ business incentives have attracted the attention of IBM, Motorola, Apple, and Indeed. After scoring a partnership with Microsoft, they’ve talked at length about relocating to San Francisco.
