We’ve been waiting to hear about Samsung’s entrance into XR for a few years now, with the company’s still unnamed mixed reality headset ‘Project Moohan’ set to debut sometime this year running Google’s Android XR operating system.

He is very positive about it to happen quite soon.
The first device to be compatible with it is the mixed-reality headset that Google is building with Samsung and Qualcomm, codenamed Project Moohan. Android XR will be the operating system by Google to power all XR devices, from mixed reality headsets to AR glasses, not to mention smart glasses. This is super beneficial for everyone.
Alongside the announcement of the new Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip, Qualcomm also revealed its latest reference headset, a mixed reality device that’s likely the foundation of Samsung’s upcoming headset. Samsung announced last year that it’s working with both Google and Qualcomm on an XR device.
In a press statement , Vivo says the move comes as a broader push to pursue both robotics and XR devices, referring to Vivo Vision as “a significant milestone in vivo’s exploration of mixed reality technology.”

That’s a patently Apple recipe though that Samsung may not be able to easily replicate. The question is: what can Samsung bring to the table that Apple and Meta can’t?
