An apparently never-before-seen HTC headset won an IF Design Award today, which arrived with multiple photos of what was listed as a consumer headset targeting release in 2021. The fitness-focused headset is just a concept, the company says, but we’re probably going to see many of its design elements in an upcoming HTC headset.
What is the real, physical, display resolution of my VR headset? It still has best-in-class tracking and audio quality but its 1600×1440 resolution has been surpassed on both the low end with Quest 2 and the high end with headsets like HTC’s Vive Pro 2 and Varjo Aero. However, there are companies that require way more than these headsets can provide, turning to manufacturers like VRgineers and its XTAL head-mounteddisplay (HMD) for that quality and feature set a consumer device just can’t match.
