My article about Android XR granting permissions for the camera frames has earned me mentions in important magazines like Road To VR , Upload VR , and Android Authority ! At this point, it is unclear what Sony wants to do with its headset: in my opinion, a permanent price cut would be hugely beneficial for it. This is impressive.

Recently a Sony patent appeared indicating plans for upgrades to PlayStation VR, adding features like inside-out tracking and wireless capabilities. Of course, what’s a Sony patent without a hint of PlayStation somewhere in there. For further updates on Sony’s AR and VR plans, keep reading VRFocus.
Now it’s the turn of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) with possible new designs for PlayStation VR which include possible improved tracking and wireless options. There’s another function for the headset mounted cameras and that’s seeing the world around you.

Beijing-based research organization recently released a study named “Experiment Report on the Impact of Long-Term Use of Virtual Reality (VR) Head-MountedDisplays on the Vision of Pre-teen Users” (PDF download). Remember the recent article PlayStation VR use “might lead” to disastrous health problems ?
Interestingly, the virtual image of the screen (see Head-mountedDisplays and Lenses ) becomes larger as eye relief increases from 0mm to 10mm, and then becomes smaller again as more parts of the screen become occluded by the rim of the lens. As a side note, I’m so glad we collectively stuck with calling it head-mounteddisplays, and not something like “VR Helmet”, “VR Glasses”, or any of the other many attempts to call it something else.
