Sony Announces 4 Asia-Developed PSVR Titles Are Coming West

Sony today announced four new titles for PlayStation VR at the annual ChinaJoy Expo in Shanghai—all of which have been confirmed to make it over to Western audiences. The games come as a result of a partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and what they call “some of Asia’s most exciting developers.”

Import Records Reveal Sony Has Shipped Thousands of Dev Kits, Possibly PSVR 2

United States import records from late 2021 onward show that Sony Interactive Entertainment has shipped thousands of boxes containing developer kits from Asia to the US. The exact contents of the boxes hasn’t been specified, however Sony’s next-gen PlayStation VR 2 headset is a very likely candidate.

It might also entice developers to port over hand tracking focused games not yet on Sony's platform, such as Maestro. It also lists the tracking rate at 60 FPS, and claims the system "displays the hands smoothly" with "low latency".

More info PSVR 2 may support hand tracking At SIGGRAPH Asia, Sony has demonstrated hand tracking working on PSVR 2. The two companies have a great relationship and Apple is realizing that the fact that its headset lacking controllers is a problem for certain types of content, gaming in particular. PSVR Owners Can Now Request a Free Camera Adapter for PS5 Compatibility

Sony has finally revealed how and when PSVR owners can get their hands on a camera adapter to make PlayStation VR compatible with PS5.
