Immersive media is a collective term that incorporates 360-degree video, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) and volumetric capture (includes both CGI and 3-D scanning). The Times’ arrangement with Samsung will wrap up at the end of 2017, and the Times will continue to produce 360-degree videos on a smaller scale after.
