The first device to be compatible with it is the mixed-reality headset that Google is building with Samsung and Qualcomm, codenamed Project Moohan. As a Google-owned studio, it's unsurprising to see Owlchemy Labs announce support for Samsung's standalone headset code named 'Project Moohan,' which runs on Google's new Android XR operating system. But to summarize, the most important XR-related tidbits have been: Google confirmed that is still working with Qualcomm and Samsung to build an XR headset. We already know that Google, Samsung, and Qualcomm are working on a competitor of the Vision Pro, which should be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR Gen2+ and cost around $2000. Long story short, Sony will make PSVR 2 users play PCVR games. It’s free, so you have no excuses not to attend!

Sony and Verizon have partnered to create the next generation of VR concerts and have announced this partnership at CES. Anyway, with the end of the life of Quest 2, this cycle finished and a new one started with Quest 3, Apple Vision Pro, Google and Samsung announcing their own headset, and other companies chasing them (e.g. with Xiaomi, Oppo, Samsung, etc…) to convince hardware manufacturers to create headsets powered by Android XR.
I think that the upcoming release of Quest 3, and the increasing rumors about Samsung are going to improve our situation even more. Let’s see: Google is still working with Qualcomm and Samsung on a mixed-reality headset. We already saw this problem happening when HTC departed from the Steam platform to build its Viveport store because hardware sales were not enough to have an ambitious business. I’m curious to see how this will turn out to be.
