I host or co-host several events on the same VR platform, AltspaceVR , owned by Microsoft. Facebook is another tech giant, like Microsoft, with its own platform?—? When I go to Cambodia, my body works the same as it did back in the US. All major platforms that I am aware of are privately owned.

Furthermore, my involvement is primarily confined to one particular social VR platform, AltspaceVR, owned by Microsoft, making most of my experience the product of a niche within a niche within a niche. Microsoft has been very active in this area for years and their video on the history of flight simulation is a good introduction.
