As a little-known initiative, Oculus is actively funneling in talent with the promise of training, tools and other resources that developers — new and old — can use to build projects for the Oculus platform as well as for the greater VR ecosystem. This has been a pretty interesting week for me, having spoken at XR Safety Week and Stereopsia, and having published two cool articles about creating innovative SteamVR controllers and using Application SpaceWarp in Unity to almost double the framerate of your application. I have always praised Oculus for being the company offering the best packaging, but now Oculus has a true competitor. Furthermore, it is not as in the Oculus Go , where you can clearly see the grid of the pixels: here the grid pattern of the subpixels doesn’t disturb the user. The headset is very elegant and classy.
