I’ve just had my first day in Nanchang, China. I’m here to attend the WCVRI , a very big event about Virtual Reality in China, where I am exhibiting HitMotion: Reloaded , the mixed reality fitness game of my agency New Technology Walkers ( contact us if you need some VR development!). Rony Abovitz steps down from Magic Leap CEO. This was a very good thing and attracted many people to Magic Leap. I hope that Magic Leap will benefit from it and will recover pretty soon. 3 Headsets come from China with love. This week we had the announcement of 3 headsets from China.

Project North Star is an opensource reference design for a wide-FOV augmented reality headset that Leap Motion (now Ultraleap ) has given to the community. Keep in mind that Magic Leap One has a diagonal FOV of 50° and you realize why the word “only” is between quotes. North Star AR headset.

and “What are the differences with the Mainland China”. What are the differences with Mainland China? From my point of view, Taiwan and Mainland China are very similar and for sure stem from the same cultural background. Taiwan looks to me like a little version of Mainland China, a bit less Chinese and a bit more Western.

It is an augmented reality glass that is being developed in China by a former Magic Leap engineer. The other AR company to follow is for sure RealMax, that at CES has launched the RealMax Qian , another very interesting AR headset from China. In my opinion, Nreal has been one of the biggest AR reveal of this CES.
