The next remote conference on XR is coming to a computer or headset near you. The Virtuality Experience is the VR offering that replaces the physical conference that has historically taken place in France and Argentina. Tickets to this remote conference are completely free, however, would-be attendees must apply for access.
As fears of a Coronavirus pandemic continue to dominate the news cycle, Facebook today confirmed that the company will not be holding its somewhat-annual F8 developers conference this year over concerns of a potential outbreak. Sony, Microsoft, EA, and several other major names are reportedly skipping this year’s conference as well.

There’s a lot of buzz around this year because, while AWE never took a break, the conference went online last year and this time it’s live and in-person in Santa Clara California. Because people are still wary of travel and because the virtual AWE conferences had such high attendance, this year is going to be a hybrid event.
