SaudiArabia has recently injected more than half a billion dollars into augmented reality company MagicLeap, which it hopes will rival Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Will MagicLeap 2 be able to compete with Apple? It’s certainly worth watching.

In fact, with SaudiArabia still pouring $500 million into companies like MagicLeap as Meta continues to invest in optical AR glasses, the question of whether VR-style headsets with passthrough on them are going to be used outdoors in any significant way is not a forgone conclusion.
