Microsoft debuted the lengthily-named “Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers” back in May, but until now we haven’t had a chance to actually try them out. During a recent meeting with Microsoft in San Francisco, I got to try the VR controllers for the first time paired with the Acer Windows VR headset.
Today, Microsoft is making its long—awaited Mesh for Teams immersive VR meeting platform available for enterprise end users. The service is now available for clients, allowing them to access Microsoft’s dynamic virtual remote meeting solution via desktop or Meta Quest headsets. Mesh is helping us achieve that.

Oculus has added new documentation to their developer knowledge base detailing the ‘buffered haptics’ feature of the Oculus SDK, a method for programming more advanced haptic feedback from the company’s Touch controllers. The SDK supports two approaches to controller haptics, Buffered and Non-buffered.

We’ve just confirmed with Google’s Clay Bavor that its upcoming standalone headsets from HTC and Lenovo will use the Daydream controller with three degrees of freedom (3DOF). The HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and upcoming headsets from Microsoft have controllers offering full six degrees of freedom (6DOF).
