Unreal Engine, one of the leading creation tools in the digital development market, has its own selection of valuable VR modes and technologies specifically suited to virtual reality. The latest version of Unreal Engine, UE5 (Unreal Engine 5) shipped in April 2022 this year, after an initial period of early access in 2021.
I spoke with him about many topics, like why VR is so good for training (and he told me that his company Strivr has trained more than ONE MILLION Walmart employees in VR ), if it is true that VR is the “ultimate empathy machine”, how much is graphical fidelity important for presence, and of course also about his encounter with Zuck.
It states, among other things, that “The company used its data advantage to create superior market intelligence to identify nascent competitive threats and then acquire, copy, or kill these firms”. You activate the machine, pay for its usage and you can have cloud rendering. Learn more. Learn more. Learn more.
Yes, it is less than the 5% of Unreal, but until yesterday we only paid per seat, not both per seat and per revenue sharing. Some developers I know are already switching to Godot or Unreal because they say that Unity can’t be trusted anymore. of our revenues with Unity. And this 2.5%
If we look at the data of the three independent reports, we get a clear coherent picture. This new standard evolves the previous H265 compression format for videos, reducing data requirement up to 50% while providing visually the same quality. Learn more (VR in healthcare event) Learn more (Oculus Quest giveaway).
Because most VR developers know well Unity or Unreal, and WebVR languages like A-frame are based on Javascript, that is very different from the usual programming flow of the game engines. This can be extremely useful to implement indoor navigation ; Vuforia Spatial Toolbox, that lets you integrate AR augmentations with industrial machines.
Now, however, countless companies and developers are beginning to embrace this model, including Varjo (with Varjo Teleport ), Unity, and Unreal. Finally, in 2023, a team of German and French researchers built on the innovations of NeRFs and changed how they stored data with Gaussian splatting. What is Gaussian Splatting?
However, there’s actually a significant symbiotic relationship between extended reality, AI solutions, and machinelearning. The best generative AI software should work seamlessly with the tools your teams already use, from content creation and development platforms like Unity and Unreal , to metaverse as a service platforms.
PanguVR trained rigorously using hundreds of Terabytes of data from real designers and architects and using various A.I. The aim in developing the PanguVR engine was to equip content producers to create immersive and interactive content, in UE4 (Unreal VR Engine), automatically meaning without any learning curve.
The vision of the company is to create stretchable clothing with built-in electronics that detect user’s movement, all while being a piece of clothing which can be worn comfortably with machine washability just as regular shirt could do. The e-skin SDK supports application development and data analysis.
Like many other technologies, there is no perfect roadmap to learning XR. Nevertheless, I have tried my level best to come up with a generalized learning process for the same. Learn programming from YouTube, Udemy, Udacity and a thousand other free platforms. There are tons of online resources to learn these.
The roll-out of 5G technology and Wi-Fi 6 and rising technologies including artificial intelligence, machinelearning, big data analytics is feeding virtual reality market extension globally. The many immersive activities by VR headsets have changed the face of learning totally towards a different phase.
Physics and realistic light simulation (ray tracing) You’d need a way to have a persistent world with data, continuity, rules, systems. An example of this is how it can be used to dream of virtual machines and text adventure games. Image from Unreal Engine 5.1 How many virtual machines?
Over the last couple years, we have gained a lot of experience with them and their Unreal Engine. BMWBlog’s Nico DeMattia attended the Web Summit 2022 in Portugal’s capital city, incorporating Varjo XR-3 headsets synched with movements from one of BMW’s top motor machines. Motor Companies Meet the Metaverse.
Although this technology has clear applications for gaming and social VR apps such as vTime and the upcoming Facebook VR platform, the founders also plan to use the recorded data to analyse how audiences react to regular films and TV advertising.

Moreover, digital transformation trends highlight how 75 percent of WEF’s surveyed companies wish to adopt emerging technologies such as big data, cloud computing, and AI in the next five years. The increasing demand for big data streaming also forces hardware developers to innovate in areas such as 5G.
Although extended reality (XR) and Web3 experiences exist thanks to other integrated elements like AI, MachineLearning, Blockchain, and Geo-tagged content. For example, Web3 services may reward users with tokens or cryptocurrency for sharing their data to keep things transparent.
Once exclusive to technology pioneers and data scientists, the Metaverse is expanding to affect everyone. It can help with natural language processing to ensure our machines and robotics can understand us. Additionally, AI plays a pivotal role in avatar animation.
Since then, game developers, using tools like Unity and Unreal Engine, have pushed the boundaries when it comes to creating realistic, simulated worlds. Then they will progress to a “connected” digital twin and on to a “live data” twin. Based on the real data coming in, plus simulated data going forward.

For the time being, these are the only two sets of data points AMD is providing. What’s not necessary, however, is AI/machinelearning hardware. Though with plans to make it available soon as an Unreal Engine plugin, the company certainly has its eyes on enabling wide-scale deployment of the technology over time.
Allen discussed the benefits of immersive learning platforms, citing a company study on the return on investment (ROI) for clients via VR training. Regarding upskilling challenges across multiple verticals, Allen discussed the costs and expenses of creating immersive learning experiences. Oberon Technologies.
How did you get involved in VR and learning? It is transforming education by experiential learning. And again, that is to help students learn faster, retain information longer, and make better decisions. The biggest one is a dissemination machine to up to 7-10,000 users. Alan: I’m really, really excited.

Alan: So, would the things like computer vision and machinelearning, would that fit? Accenture has different groups, like a group headed dedicated to artificial intelligence, things like cloud computing, and machinelearning is a part of artificial intelligence. Would you bundle those under XR as well? Alan: Incredible.

They sold this money machine to focus on a technology that is currently not making any relevant money. In the meanwhile, the situation surrounding the company is always more confusing: Immersed is raising more than $2M on Wefunder, but it is not clear why it reports there some financial data from 2023.
Many game engines – such as Unity, Unreal and SteamVR- immediately support it. If developers use an API from one peripheral vendor, they need to learn a new API for each new device. Some accept a high-end gaming PC, while others prefer inexpensive Android machines. Smart software can turn data into higher-level information.
And then if you take things like Unreal Engine, they're doing concerts on their Fortnite platform. Now, if you look at something like game engines, for example, Unity and Unreal, they've been established for many, many years. Alan: Oh, like vibrating gloves and scent machines, and the whole nut. And Unity's, I think started.
