Every year I like to play the guessing game for the Oculus/Facebook/Meta Connect making my list of predictions… which are not always correct, but they are good because they entice all the community people to play this game with me and to tell how they would love to see XR evolving. So let’s see together what are my predictions for tomorrow’s 2024 edition!

Owlchemy Labs, the Google-owned studio behind Job Simulator (2016) and Vacation Simulator (2019) , surprise announced its next VR title today, a hand-tracking-tastic social co-op game called Dimensional Double Shift. And you can get ready to multiplayer job this week. Launching for free on Quest on September 26th, Dimensional Double Shift lets up to four players work at the Gas N’ Grill, an omnidimensional diner and service station owned by Conglomni Corp.

This week, immersive skilled trades training solutions provider Interplay Learning announced a new capital investment from Goldman Sachs Alternatives to scale its training solutions to new clients in the enterprise marketplace. As part of the investment, Richard Waitumbi, Managing Director at Goldman Sachs , will also join Interplay Learning’s Board of Directors.

An early Quest 3S in-store display reveals the repeatedly leaked headset's resolution, and that it comes with controllers and Batman: Arkham Shadow. Photos of the Quest 3S display in Walmart, seemingly put up a day early given that Meta Connect 2024 takes place tomorrow, were uploaded to the Meta Quest VR subreddit. The photos provide yet another look at what may now be the most leaked headset in this industry's history.

Metro Awakening brings the post-apocalyptic series to VR this November on Quest, Steam, PlayStation VR2, and Viveport. 0:00 / 1:11 1× Developed by Vertigo Games, Awakening promises an origin story for this post-apocalyptic series set five years before Metro 2033 that's written by Metro's creator, Dmitry Glukhovsky. Previously revealed back in January, a new trailer in today's PlayStation State of Play presentation confirmed the upcoming narrative adventure launches on November 7.

The Midnight Walk is a dark fantasy adventure using clay-sculpted models, and it's coming to PC VR and PlayStation VR2 next year. Developed by MoonHood, a new studio formed by former Zoink ( Fe , Lost in Random ) developers Olov Redmalm and Klaus Lyngeled, The Midnight Walk sees you play as The Burnt One. After digging yourself out of a muddy grave to find a purpose, you soon reignite a dormant lantern creature called Potboy and bring them back to life.

Hitman: World of Assassination is bringing the entire trilogy to PlayStation VR2 this December. Announced during this evening's State of Play presentation , the entire Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy is heading for PSVR 2 following previous attempts to adapt the third entry on other platforms. Developer IO Interactive states this version includes dual-wielding and room-scale gameplay, alongside new controls and gameplay mechanics.

This article was written in a head-mounted display in a bus driving across California from Los Angeles to San Jose. I used a folding pocket keyboard to type into the headset's web browser. I brought my phone display into Horizon OS but left its audio running through bluetooth earbuds. This allowed me to listen to my music continuously, outside and inside the headset, from a list called Virtual Reality.

Following Job Simulator , Vacation Simulator , and Cosmonious High , Dimensional Double Shift is the latest VR game from Owlchemy Labs. Piloting the Gas N’ Grill service station across the Omniverse, you and up to three additional friends participate in group activities to serve citizens, such as cooking food or fixing up cars.
