Microsoft announced Windows Volumetric Apps, a new API for extending 3D elements of PC applications streamed to Meta Quest into 3D space. Recently, reports from South Korea have cast doubt on the current technology partnership between Meta and LG Electronics. Following a fruitful start, the publication Korea JoongAng Daily reports that the alliance is slowing down, putting the development of Meta and LG’s new competitive XR headset on hold. According to the report, the duo is struggling to gain momentum due to the lack of available XR content and a slow maturation pace of related XR technology developments.

The Meta Quest v66 system software update started to roll out last week in the PTC (Public Test Channel). The Public Test Channel is an early access program for Meta Quest system software. By signing up, you can get early access to the unreleased software version ahead of the public release.
