Today I want to get back to writing a post about VR startup life and personal development , an article more similar to what you usually find in a personal blog. In particular, I want to talk about a strategy I’ve recently applied to plan my days better and align what I’m doing with what I want to obtain in my VR career. I’ve been using this strategy for a few weeks now and I’m seeing very positive results, so I’m sharing it with you.

A Fisherman’s Tale studio InnerspaceVR today revealed its next game: One True Path , a narrative-driven VR adventure coming to Quest 3 and PC VR headsets starting this month. ByteDance announced the lineup of standalone apps and games that will support leg tracking via Pico Motion Trackers. The company also confirmed that a pack of two trackers with leg straps will retail for £80 in the UK and €90 in Europe. What Are Pico Motion Trackers? Pico is releasing Pico 4 Ultra starting this month, where it’s slated to take on Quest 3 across Europe and Asia—which could be right in time for Meta to unveil the allegedly cheaper Quest 3S. Pico is releasing pre-orders for Pico 4 Ultra in Europe from September 6th to September 19th, priced at £529 / €599, looking to take on Quest 3 as it hones in on a similar specs sheet and price point.

You can now go fishing in No Man's Sky following today's Aquarius update. After the Worlds Part 1 update introduced new water technology, Hello Games revealed today's No Man's Sky update is inspired by fan art of a player fishing from the wing of their boat. Aquarius adds a wide variety of fish from "common minnows to wild alien catches," each of which have their own habitats and catching conditions.

Following a slight bump in the road in Q2, AR enterprise smart glasses vendor Vuzix entered a $20 million three-tranche strategic investment with Quanta Computer Inc., a global Fortune 500 company, this week to boost the vendor ahead of 2025. The moves gives Vuzix a much-needed boost following an underperforming Q2 period. The Quanta Computer Inc. investment consists of Vuzix common and preferred stock, vastly boosting the firm’s readiness for the second half of 2024.

MyDearest announced that The Exit 8 VR will make its PC VR debut via Steam soon. Developed by KOTAKE CREATE, the game first burst onto the scene as a flatscreen title on Steam in 2023, quickly going viral thanks to its uptake by major streamers worldwide. With such success, perhaps a VR port of the title should have been inevitable, and the game reached Quest platforms earlier this year.

Project: Lost Worlds is an ambitious upcoming VRChat world with considerable promise, and we went hands-on at Venice Immersive. The next release from Finsworks Interactive ( Complex 7 ), Project: Lost Worlds is one of the numerous VRChat worlds being showcased at Venice Immersive 2024. Taking inspiration from Avatar's Pandora and the dinosaur-filled plains reminiscent of Jurassic Park, Fins describes this project as "a dream of mine" that's been pursued over the last five to six years.

One True Path is the next VR game from the A Fisherman's Tale studio, and part 1 launches soon in early access. Developed by InnerspaceVR, One True Path is a narrative-driven VR adventure that's targeting "new players and fans of old-school paper-and-pencil adventuring alike." While additional teasers are promised over the next few weeks, today's announcement states this will offer a post apocalyptic western with a new take on VR shooters.
