At AWE Europe in Vienna, I have been able to go hands-on with some very interesting XR solutions. I’ve already written for you my impressions on XPANCEO contact lenses , Snap Spectacles glasses , MeganeX Superlight 8K headset , and Gracia volumetric videos. But there have been a few other cool things I’ve tried, and since I can not write an article for all of them, I want to summarize some other highlights from the event in this comprehensive article.

Spatial Ops , the mixed reality shooter from Resolution Games, officially releases today on Quest, letting you organize essentially the wildest game of laser tag imaginable. Now available on Quest 2/3/Pro, Spatial Ops lets you go head-to-head with up to eight players across a number of game modes, including Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Domination.

Skydance's Behemoth on PC VR will only launch through Meta Quest Link on December 5. While the upcoming action RPG is currently scheduled to launch on the same day on Quest and PS VR2, it's been unclear whether PC VR would follow. A PC VR release date was absent during its " World and Story " trailer with further details promised "in the next few weeks.

VR roguelike shooter The Light Brigade gets a new playable class, a new world, and more in the free 'Phantom of Time' update. Out now on all platforms, Update 4.0 for The Light Brigade adds the "Saboteur" class. Developer Funktronic Labs describes him as a gunslinger armed with an SW500 revolver, and he's also equipped with a "timepiece that cloaks and deploys a deadringer for stealthy escapes.

Little Cities (2022) , the pint-sized VR city manager, is getting a new version for Apple Vision Pro that’s all about mixed reality gameplay. Called Little Cities: Diorama, the game will launch for Vision Pro through Apple Arcade on December 5th. It also just so happens to be the game’s first foray into mixed reality, as the version available on Quest and PSVR 2 focus entirely on virtual environments.

This week, reports stemming from Reuters highlight how Amazon is employing AR smart glasses to optimise its delivery options. Amazon is planning to deploy its new bespoke smart glasses for delivery drivers. The glasses will leverage AR visualisations to help guide drivers on their routes, seemingly for on-foot navigation towards a customer landing point.

Today, VOXReality awarded €1 million in grant funding to five European XR projects that use AR/VR/MR technology to solve hurdles in human-to-human interaction for enterprise sectors. VOXReality awards the €1 million grant via equal €200k investments across a 1-year programme. The European Commission-funded VOXReality group focuses on aiding the development of XR services in the region.

The Apple Immersive Video format is 180-degree video with 8K resolution, stereoscopic 3D, high dynamic range (HDR), and spatial audio.
