Metal: Hellsinger VR is a very unique flatscreen game, and also has the potential to be a very unique VR game. But it’s going to take a little tuning up before launch to really make it sing. If you’ve never played the flatscreen version of Metal: Hellsinger , it’s probably unlike anything you’ve played before. It’s a fast-paced FPS game that asks you to shoot to the beat.

This week, the University of Canterbury (UC) released a study on teacher upskilling for those working with infants aged up to six months. According to new UC studies, the team is researching “critical training opportunities” for education professionals who may not have access to real infants. Also, and of course, securing real infants for this kind of training can prove difficult, with VR providing a far more accessible avenue towards this goal.

The startups formerly known as Ultrahaptics and Leap Motion appear to be heading in separate directions again after 5 years together ended in significant layoffs. A Sky News report cites "sources" as saying the company is halving its workforce and plans to "seek a buyer for its hand-tracking business." Developer Max Thomas posted on X that he was looking for work after "the US team at Ultraleap was laid off".

Apple Vision Pro just launched in China, Japan, and Singapore, the first new countries outside the US. The China launch includes the Hong Kong special administrative region. Preorders opened in these countries two weeks ago and are now shipping, and the headset is also available to demo and buy in Apple Stores. Photos all taken by Apple. Rec Room's optional full body avatars are now available to all players in beta, but they still don't support body tracking. Full body avatars are an optional alternative to Rec Room's current avatars, which only feature a head, torso, and hands. Inter Solar 83, an interstellar exploration VR adventure, edges closer to launch with a series of closed alpha updates. Inter Solar 83 is a solo endeavor by Joe Chisholm ( Go For Launch: Mercury ) from First Time Games. It promises first-person open-world PC VR space exploration through the universe by letting you pilot your own ship and make it your own, also allowing you to step foot beyond the cockpit to explore procedurally generated planets on foot.
