Mixed Reality Flight Sims Are Accelerating F-16 Pilot Training in Ukraine

Flight simulator company Dogfight Boss, and Varjo, the high-end XR headset creator, announced they’ve shipped their first mixed reality F-16 simulator to the Ukrainian Air Force to help accelerate pilot training. And there’s likely more to come, as the country inevitably looks to scale training to keep pace with the influx of the American-built fighter jets.

A Varjo Headset Is Being Used To Rapidly Train Ukrainian Pilots To Fly F-16s

A simulator with a Varjo XR-3 headset is being used to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16 fighter jets the country recently received. Ukraine started receiving the first F-16s in August, intended to boost the country's ability to repel attacks by Russian aircraft on its cities and infrastructure. Around 65 F-16s have been pledged to the country by NATO countries including the Netherlands and Denmark.

Sony released its latest PlayStation VR2 download charts for August, and there are two games in #1. The latest monthly PlayStation Store charts are live, revealing last month's top downloads. While July's #1 Stilt is nowhere to be found after receiving a hefty 90% discount, Beat Saber is back on top in North America and #2 in Europe. Those positions are reversed with Swordsman VR , which took #1 in Europe and #2 in North America.
