There’s at least six really good reasons why getting Half-Life: Alyx onto PSVR 2 is a good idea, and it would be a net positive for everyone involved. So what do we gotta do to make it happen? Despite launching in 2020, Half-Life: Alyx continues to be one of VR’s absolute best games. It’s production value and incredible attention to detail have allowed it to hold up extremely well, even four years later.

This week, reports are emerging that Meta is continuing to drop Quest 1 support, following the firm’s slow drop in technical support for the landmark headset in previous months. Meta’s transition to dropping official support for the classic headset feels natural at this point in the firm’s history. However, Meta’s dropping security support for the headset in an upcoming Quest 1 update could prove to be the final nail in the product’s coffin.

Japanese studio UNIVRS announced Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable in late 2022, making for the hit anime’s first official VR game. Now the studio says it’s releasing the game in early access on Quest next month, giving us our first look at gameplay. And it looks pretty rough. The studio today announced that Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable is releasing on Quest in early access on July 23rd, priced at just $5.

Fortnite in VR still isn't happening as Epic Games' CEO reconfirmed there are currently "no plans." Responding to a question on X (formerly Twitter), Tim Sweeney was asked whether Fortnite is coming to Quest. Addressing this directly, the Epic Games founder confirmed it's not currently happening and cited locomotion mechanics as an issue. No plans currently.

Pico announced it will open up its store and get rid of Pico Lab. It comes just over two months after Meta announced the same, that it will merge App Lab into the main store in two steps, firstly by making App Lab apps searchable and then getting rid of the distinction altogether. The first step has already happened. Meta Is Getting Rid Of App Lab And Opening Up The Store Meta says it will get rid of Quest’s unlisted App Lab and instead make the store much more open.

This week, Sightful, the immersive technology innovator behind the upcoming AR laptop device, “Spacetop,” announced that it is laying off 20 employees and disbanding its hardware division. The move comes as a “long-term strategic decision” to develop AR software solutions. In an official press release, the firm noted that the layoffs are “not the path the company intended”, especially as Sightful is deep in its development of the Spacetop and the recent G1 model.

Inspired by Superhot VR, Archery RED is a new crossbow action game coming to Steam today. Developed by Simplicity Games, Archery RED sees you play as an archer across a single-player campaign or endless survival mode. Promising "realistic archery mechanics," that involves shooting obstacles alongside robotic enemies with "unique characteristics" and behaviors, all while dodging enemy arrows.

Last month, during WWDC 2024, Apple announced the long-awaited news that the Vision Pro will reach several new territories by early July 2024. As of Friday, June 28, Apple debuted its MR headset in China (mainland, 24,502 CNY), Japan (484,415 JPY), and Singapore (4,725 SGD). Apple is also debuting the Vision Pro in Australia (5,195 AUD), Canada (4,725 CAD), France (3,245 EUR), Germany (3,245 EUR), and the United Kingdom (2,785 GBP) starting Friday, July 12.

Attack On Titan VR: Unbreakable will receive a staggered launch, entering early access this month on Quest. Previously announced in 2022, Attack On Titan VR: Unbreakable from UNIVRS ( Be The Hero , Little Witch Academia: VR Broom Racing ) is an upcoming 3D maneuvering action-adventure game. Following last year's late delay, the studio confirmed Unbreakable's early access release arrives on July 23 with Chapters 1 and 2, both promising "2-3 hours" of gameplay.
