Blade & Sorcery , arguably VR’s top physics-based combat sandbox, is leaving Early Access next week on Steam, which will see the release of a giant 1.0 update that brings its long-awaited ‘Crystal Hunt’ story mode. For many, Blade & Sorcery was everything they ever wanted in VR: a place to beat the ever-living crap out of whoever, wherever, and with whatever.
Being a major JEDEC memory standard, GDDR7 is slated to be produced by all three of the Big Three memory manufacturers. But it seems that not all three vendors will be kicking off mass production at the same time. SK hynix was at this year's Computex trade show, showing off their full lineup of memory technologies – including, of course, GDDR7.

To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results. For example, even a simple phrase like “got milk” translates to “are you lactating” in Mexico. Can you imagine what a straight translation might do to your course? With over 317 million people in the US and over 6.7 billion potential customers in the world, personalizing training seems logical.
Trade shows like Computex always bring out their fair share of oddities, and this year was no exception, with one of the highlights being a Corsair PC case with no fewer than 24 fans. As one of a handful of companies offering really big desktop PC cases, Corsair was demonstrating its new creature: the 9000D Airflow. At 90 liters in volume – which is twice the size of regular PCs and 1.5x the volume of a typical car gas tank – the colossal case is bigger than ever.
For basic Vision Pro interactions like navigating apps and scrolling web pages, the headset’s look-and-pinch input system works like magic. But if you want to go more ‘hands-on’ with virtual content, the headset’s full hand-tracking leaves much to be desired. Compared to Quest 3, Vision Pro’s full hand-tracking has notably more latency.

One of Qualcomm's indisputable strengths are its 5G modems – something which even Apple has yet to successfully ween itself from. And while Qualcomm is not integrating a modem into its first-generation Oryon-based Snapdragon X chips, the company is still looking to leverage that technology advantage via discrete modems that can be installed in Snapdragon X laptops.
STRIDE: Fates (2023) initially released late last year on Quest , bringing with it a campaign to match the series’ hard-won locomotion mechanics that feel pretty inspired by parkour shooter Mirror’s Edge. Now, the PSVR 2 version of the game just got a big overhaul that hopes to address a lot of the complaints following its release on PS5 in May.
Although consumer SSDs based on Phison's PS5026-E26 controller have been on the market for almost a year and a half now, the class-leading drives still carry a distinct price premium, and to some degree that's because it's still one of the only options for a PCIe 5.0 SSD. But it looks like the situation is going to change in the coming quarters, as SSDs based on Phison's PS5031-E31T controller are incoming, with at least one Phison customer demoing an E31T drive on the Computex s
Ubisoft announced in late 2022 it was bringing a VR version of its motion-based dance game Just Dance to Pico 4, making it the first big exclusive to target what was essentially Pico’s Quest 2 competitor. Now Ubisoft has announced that Just Dance VR is coming to Quest later this year, ostensibly skipping Pico support entirely. Pico announced during its Pico Product Announcement 2022 it was working with Ubisoft to bring Just Dance VR exclusively to Pico 4 in 2023, however it was subseque

Apple Vision Pro can print flat media on physical paper in visionOS 2. Text and images presented in classic formats such as English and JPEG can now be etched onto thin slices of tree using a printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as an Apple Vision Pro headset running visionOS 2. Below is an embedded video showing an image of Nicolas Cage printed from my photos library using an AirPrint-compatible printer while sat on a virtual beach in Bora Bora. 0:00 / 1:01 1× The new feature, present on

In today's episode of the robotspaceship Podcast we discuss Apple Intelligence, the latest announcement from Apple at WWDC2024. Our initial impression is that this is a wise, cohesive unification of hardware, apps and data that we've been missing for a long time. It makes a lot of sense for adding an AI layer to their platform, however data security will be a huge concern.
