Disney unveiled an omni-directional treadmill project it hopes to eventually scale up for users both in and outside of virtual reality. Called HoloTile, the unique device is composed of individual ’tiles’ that rotate and change pitch to accommodate to a user’s stride in order to simulate walking in any given direction. It is week four of the year, and yet another massive firm is entering the XR space by way of Disney. The international media conglomerate is in the headlines this week with its Holotile breakthrough, a prototype device that acts as a VR input treadmill, allowing various users to walk around a shared virtual environment without requiring a controller.

To many, Palworld is the Pokémon game Nintendo should have made but didn’t, as it launches you into an open-world environment where you can battle and hang with some very pocket monster-inspired creatures. Thanks to a free mod though, you can already jump in head-first with your PC VR headset or Quest with Link. There are a number of concerns when playing Palworld through Praydog’s UEVR mod for PC (link below), which lets you play Unreal Engine 4 or 5 game in VR.

Massive news this weekend. Apple officially opened pre-orders for its Vision Pro MR headset on January 19, and these pre-orders sold out before the weekend ended. The sellout is notable due to general speculation concerning the price point of the Vision Pro device – $3,499 – which led some to assume that the Apple XR debut could underdeliver.

Here’s our full review: When we were kids, sometimes all we wanted to do was pick up a toy and smash it off an opposing action figure. This light-hearted, nonsensical impulse is one of Crumbling's most alluring aspects, it's a simplistic VR roguelike that caters to kids and the young at heart.
