Aiming to become the “Shopify of the Metaverse,” ByondXR specializes in XR technology for e-commerce, creating 3D stores and showrooms for businesses, brands, and retailers. The company has served clients such as Lancôme, Calvin Klein, Olay, and Target, before their partnership with Armani and YSL.

Apple has barely mentioned augmented or virtual reality in its big keynotes lately, however at WWDC 2022 earlier this month, the company quietly released probably one of the best 3D room-mapping tools for mobile AR yet. Called RoomPlan , the ARKit Swift API uses the camera and LiDAR scanner on recent iPhones and iPads to create a 3D floor plan of a room, including key characteristics such as dimensions and types of furniture.

Since the battery of my previous laptop was growing in size transforming it into a timebomb, I got a new one (also thanks to my friends at Ristband !). It has not cutting-edge specs, but it features an RTX2080 Super which is still able to do a great job with most XR applications (unless you want to use a Varjo XR-3 ), so I was happy of getting it. I was only concerned by the fact that it run Windows 11 , but my colleagues that already made the update told me not to worry, because Windows 11 work

On the last day at AWE, I had some cool demos on the show floor, but the one that I will never forget has been OWO, the haptic shirt that traumatized me. OWO Vest. Owo Haptic Vest (Image by OWO). OWO is a Spanish startup that is proposing this haptic shirt able to provide you with touch sensations via electrical stimuli. The shirt must be in direct contact with the body so that it can stimulate directly the skin and the muscles with the electricity, so you can’t wear clothes below it.
