All aboard! In a video shared on Reddit earlier this week, independent game studio Foggy Box ( Startenders, Brunch Club ) shared footage of a prototype VR game called Infinite Trainset which uses the Meta Quest 2’s Passthrough technology to bring virtual train sets to life in the real world. Using the Touch controllers, players can lay down virtual tracks around their real-world environment to build complex circuits that interact realistically with flat surfaces such as walls and ceilings.

Meta Platforms Inc has declined to comment on its slated plans to open new Reality Labs offices in Durham, North Carolina amid a major downturn in the immersive tech branch’s operations, The News and Observer reported on Friday. The company says it will use the cash to accelerate the rollout of its next-gen products. HaptX has been enhancing and refining its enterprise-focused haptic VR gloves for several years now. In addition to force-feedback, the company also touts its micro-pneumatic haptics which push against your skin to mimic the feeling of an object pushing back when you grip it.
