To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results. For example, even a simple phrase like “got milk” translates to “are you lactating” in Mexico. Can you imagine what a straight translation might do to your course? With over 317 million people in the US and over 6.7 billion potential customers in the world, personalizing training seems logical.
Microsoft announced it’s released a public preview of Azure Remote Rendering support for Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro, something that promises to allow devs to render complex 3D content in the cloud and stream it to those VR headsets in real-time. Azure Remote Rendering, which already supports desktop and the company’s AR headset HoloLens 2, notably uses a hybrid rendering approach to combine remotely rendered content with locally rendered content.

After having seen the teaser of the Quest 3 and especially the announcement of the Apple Vision Pro (about which you can read my opinion here ), I’m always more convinced that we have entered into a new phase of XR history. And this is opening new opportunities for all of us. The cycles of the evolution of XR Innovation never goes in a straight way.
The art of folding paper could be the key to unlocking more realistic VR experiences. A group of researchers based out of Westlake University in China has developed a device that can improve the realism and fidelity of objects in VR using an approach inspired by origami, the art of paper folding to create 3D figures and shapes. Hanqing Jiang, who was a part of the research team, learned about a form of origami called curved origami (or curved crease origami) while at Arizona State University
