Recent reports maintain we may be seeing a mixed reality headset from Apple sometime soon, however it appears the Cupertino tech giant has filed a global trademark for realityOS, its alleged XR operating system, which could suggest we’ll learn more about that and its XR device(s) as early as next week. YouTuber SadlyItsBradley (Brad Lynch) shared apparent internal schematics for Meta’s upcoming Project Cambria headset. Project Cambria is the public codename for Meta’s upcoming high end standalone headset, announced at Connect 2021 in October. Take a spin in the new Nissan Sakura or grab a virtual latte at the Nissan brand experience gallery in Tokyo. Omniverse XR lets you view 3D scenes in VR with real-time ray tracing. NVIDIA describes it as “the first full-fidelity, fully ray traced VR” Omniverse XR supports importing highly complex USD file scenes with tens of millions of polygons. Unlike game engines, since full ray tracing is used no preprocessing or compiling is required. Inside VR objects can be repositioned and rescaled, and the lighting will adapt in real time.

First Person Tennis , a tennis simulator, is coming to the Oculus Store for Meta Quest 2 (formerly Oculus Quest) next month. While First Person Tennis debuted on App Lab last year it’s now been approved for a full release on Quest and listed as coming soon on the store for a June 2 release. Meta is still pretty camera-shy when it comes to showing off Project Cambria, the company’s upcoming high-end VR headset which offers AR passthrough. It’s been intentionally blurred for its few on-screen demos, however now we may have just gotten a look under the hood.
