Some days ago, Mark Zuckerberg made a video specifically to say that the Quest 3 is better than the Vision Pro. It’s been literally my highlight of the week: Zuck trying to make an objective review and concluding that his own product is better… literally makes no sense. It’s like me making a video tomorrow and saying that our social VR space VRROOM is better than Horizon Worlds because, well, it’s my product… and also because we have legs.

Mozilla, the company behind the Firefox browser, shuttered most of its web-focused XR development back in 2020. At the time, the company’s web-based social VR app Hubs was spared from the chopping block. Now, after a new organization-wide restructuring, all development on Hubs is set to be wound down in May. Launched in 2018, Hubs is an XR chatroom that runs directly in a browser, giving both VR headset users and standard monitor and smartphone users a place to connect.
Mozilla has announced it will shutter Mozilla Hubs, which includes Hubs Demo Server, Managed Subscription, and community resources. The web browser developer, Mozilla, said this was the result of the “organisation-wide restructuring” that it revealed last week. Since when has learning and development (L&D) become such a negative experience with its intended learners? To remedy that, the company threw out an open source Unity demo it hopes to showcase some of the most compelling things you can do in MR.
