Jonathan Blow, the creator of one of indie gaming’s fomative successes, Braid , has begun hiring a team to develop his first VR game. Before Fez (2012) , before Limbo (2010) , and before Minecraft (2009) , Braid (2008) was one of the breakout successes in the formative years of indie game development and distribution. Braid is a fairly basic 2D platformer, but with the twist of intriguing time-manipulation mechanics which made it play more like a puzzle game than a typical side-scroller.
Reebok will turn to the metaverse as it strives to expand the opportunities consumers have to interact with its products, from footwear to apparel. In 2024, this will kick into gear with the “Reebok Impact” premiere, which aspires to create “a mind and heart-bending” digital shoe experience. As is somewhat evident in the video below, that experience will leverage various elements of AI, web3, gaming, and metaverse technologies.

Just one month after launching, Meta Quest 3 is already the 5th most used VR headset on Steam. The Steam Hardware & Software Survey is offered to a random sample of Steam’s user base each month. If you accept, it uploads a list of your PC specs and peripherals to Valve, as well as any headset used on SteamVR. Quest 3 was the headset of choice for 5.2% of SteamVR users in November, a significant increase from 0.15% in October when the headset launched and first showed up on the survey.
Big Four consultancy firm Deloitte has earmarked the industrial metaverse and spatial computing as some of the top trends in tech for the year 2024, it said in a recent report. Released on Thursday, the company’s 15th instalment of its Tech Trends report revealed that last year, it had projected that “the metaverse, or the immersive internet, would soon graduate to a full-blown enterprise tool.” Companies would use the Metaverse to tap virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) tech
