Varjo announced it’s now supporting Quest 3 and Quest Pro for its cloud XR streaming platform ‘Reality Cloud’, which lets professionals stream and share immersive 3D content rendered on cloud-based GPUs. The Finland-based creator of high-end XR headsets is known for its pricey, but high-quality mixed reality headsets, which are primarily used in the enterprise space for designers and engineers, but also for things such as detailed simulation and training.

Glue Collaboration to Shut Down, Operating Firm Declares Bankruptcy

As of April 8 2024, the company operating virtual reality immersive collaboration platform provider Glue declared bankruptcy under a decision by the District Court of Helsinki. The operating firm is selling assets, including the Glue platform. Unless a new company purchases the platform and continues its operation, Glue may shut down for good – “despite our best efforts to prevent this outcome, we were unable to find a timely solution,” the firm noted.

PC VR On Steam Is Actually Growing, Not Shrinking

It's sometimes claimed that PC VR usage on Steam is shrinking, but here's why that isn't actually true. The Steam Hardware & Software Survey reports the percentage of Steam users that use a VR headset on SteamVR each month. In March this figure was 1.82%, down from 1.97% in February. This figure has been gradually trending down since March 2020, when Valve changed the survey's methodology to scan your SteamVR logs for the past month instead of only currently connected headsets.
