Tomorrow I’m taking a plane for an international flight… again. But before telling you more about this, let me wish a great “International Women’s Day” to all the wonderful women of our ecosystem! And also to all the women that are close to us men in XR and that support us every day :)… and that are close to us even if we always talk about technology and we like to wear luminous shoeboxes on our faces.
These high-flying women are literally out of this world. In honor of International Women’s Day, the Emmy Award-Winning Felix & Paul Studios has released Women In Spaceflight , a new VR film celebrating the many accomplishments of female spacefarers. Available now on Quest headsets, the six-minute 360-degree special feature pays homage to the late great Jerrie Cobb, an American aviator who paved the way for female astronauts.
The third Annual Polys WebXR Awards took place this weekend. The show was bigger than ever thanks to the first-ever in-person awards and a special event saying farewell to AltspaceVR. A Very Special Polys The Polys launched during the height of the pandemic.

To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results. For example, even a simple phrase like “got milk” translates to “are you lactating” in Mexico. Can you imagine what a straight translation might do to your course? With over 317 million people in the US and over 6.7 billion potential customers in the world, personalizing training seems logical.

This week is going to be great because I’m going to attend the SXSW (I will write a dedicated post about it). Before traveling, I’m trying to finish a few tasks for my job and I was hoping that this week there wasn’t much to write in this roundup so that I could write this newsletter fast. But actually, lots of interesting things happened, so there’s a lot to write about!

Virtual reality in the classroom is one of the many uses of immersive technologies. And, wherever it is in use, it has proven to be a great success. The second-largest school district in the Magnolia State, comprising seven high schools, 10 middle schools, 31 elementary schools, and four special program schools, has recently announced that its students will now be able to learn using VR.

Samsung announced last month it was partnering with Google and Qualcomm to develop an XR device, something the company said at the time was “not too far away.” While we’re still left guessing as to what sort of headset the Korean tech giant has in store, a new trademark filing has come to light which may suggest the headset’s naming scheme.

Would you pay for a monthly VR game subscription? The image was supposedly taken from the Meta Quest app on Android (some users are reporting iOS support as well) and describes a monthly service that offers subscribers access to the “best of VR.” Apparently Meta is adding a game pass thing soon for Quest, "Project Ap

Or is it because learning has typically been designed as a one-size-fits-all solution, despite the fact that humans are not clones?
