A New VR Film For Quest Honors Women Astronauts

These high-flying women are literally out of this world. In honor of International Women’s Day, the Emmy Award-Winning Felix & Paul Studios has released Women In Spaceflight , a new VR film celebrating the many accomplishments of female spacefarers. Available now on Quest headsets, the six-minute 360-degree special feature pays homage to the late great Jerrie Cobb, an American aviator who paved the way for female astronauts.

Jackson Public Schools Implement Virtual Reality in the Classroom

The latest educational organization to adopt it is Jackson Public Schools in Mississippi. The second-largest school district in the Magnolia State, comprising seven high schools, 10 middle schools, 31 elementary schools, and four special program schools, has recently announced that its students will now be able to learn using VR.

‘War Thunder’ Studio Announces PSVR 2 Combat Flight Sim ‘Aces of Thunder’, Trailer Here

Gaijin Entertainment, the studio behind combat simulator War Thunder , announced a new flight sim coming to PSVR 2 called Aces of Thunder. The online game is said to focus on World War II planes, such as the American fighter P-51 Mustang and British Spitfire, however future add-ons are planned to bring combat aircraft from other eras, Gaijin says. It’s said to feature competitive online battles including modes like team versus team, single duels, and modes with custom settings.

Onward Creator Departs Meta 2 Years After Acquisition

The CEO of Downpour Interactive resigned from Meta roughly two years after his VR development studio was acquired. Dante Buckley wrote in a note on Facebook, confirmed by UploadVR, that his departure is “by choice” and not in a layoff. Buckley is the creator of one of VR’s leading team-based shooters Onward. In April 2021, Meta announced it had acquired Downpour and its entire team.
