If I had to choose the most common question I’ve received in these 4 years on the blog, social media, and Quora, I would surely pick “How do I get started with virtual reality?” Usually, the question is very vague and doesn’t even define exactly what is the sector of XR of interest. It comes out from the passion of someone that has just discovered how immersive realities are beautiful, or maybe from the mind of a student that has just finished the university and wants to
Trend Forecasting with CTE at a Socially Distanced CES. By Laura Kobylecky. CES is a yearly technology trade show and conference, owned and operated by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). A R continues to evolve and take shape as an industry. Prominent sectors include industrial AR , social , gaming , and shopping. But existing alongside them is AR advertising. This includes paid/sponsored AR lenses that let consumers visualize products on “spaces & faces.”. Advertising is one of the most lucrative AR subsectors, estimated to reach $1.41 billion last year and $8.02 billion by 2024.

To avoid awkward and sometimes disastrous learning content, instructional designers must use authentic translation in the right context to get optimal results. For example, even a simple phrase like “got milk” translates to “are you lactating” in Mexico. Can you imagine what a straight translation might do to your course? With over 317 million people in the US and over 6.7 billion potential customers in the world, personalizing training seems logical.
Today I have the pleasure of publishing an interview I had with Graham Atlee , a very smart guy that has developed the Triton Project, a DIY affordable AR headset with wide FOV and natural hands interactions! I think it’s a very interesting project and all the people in the communities should know about it, so keep reading and discover it with me!

2 020 was a turbulent year for the world, but activity in spatial computing was relatively calm. And that’s actually a good thing as the sector’s early and erratic days have transitioned to slow & steady growth. These are marks of an industry that’s moving into adolescence, With that backdrop, we embarked on our annual exercise of examining lessons from the past 12 months and projecting the next 12.
Polish XR company Holo4Med has been working overtime for almost a year to throw its technological might into helping healthcare providers manage the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the most powerful weapons against the pandemic is distancing. This makes hospital overcrowding a great fear. While XR solutions for remote work and collaboration have been a hero of the COVID-19 pandemic on the enterprise side, it has been difficult for these solutions to be implemented in healthcare.
With a rapidly changing economy, Avangrid Renewables looked to virtual reality to develop a standardized form of immersive training in order to onboard and upskill technicians faster than ever before.

With 191 country signatories to the Paris Climate Agreement now hard at work in the race to zero carbon by 2050, much of the heavy lifting in ecosystem sustainability falls on the shoulders of the world's densely populated urban centers. This conversation considers how today's AI-enabled simulation media, such as AR/VR, can be effectively applied to accelerate learning, understanding, training, and solutions-modeling to sustainability planning and design.
Creator Kevin Perjurer is bringing Disneyland to life in VR, one digital attraction at a time. It was all the way back in 2017 that Defunctland , a YouTube channel covering the history of dead theme parks and entertainment centers, announced plans for a digital interactive theme park brought to life using VR technology. Much like the channel itself, this virtual theme park would be composed of numerous rides and attractions that have since shut down, allowing users to explore a bit of entertainm
Facebook announced that its long-awaited support for multiple user accounts and device-specific app sharing is heading to Oculus Quest 2 starting next month. S ocial media has become a prevailing vessel for mobile AR. The technology is naturally additive to the already-popular ritual of sharing multimedia through social channels. That’s everything from augmented selfies to stories to (increasingly) TikTok creations. “Already popular” is the key term, as AR piggybacks on an established activity, rather than forcing new behavior.

Terrific tools in PowerPoint along with visual assets help you create the kind of dynamic content you need to capture your remote audience’s attention, with functions that allow for interactive sequences and navigation.
Immersive education presents a safer, more effective alternative to conventional learning. Training and education barriers exist at all levels of education—from primary to post-secondary students and on through these student’s careers into Enterprise and business training programs. Enterprise training programs at every level are often associated with feelings of dread rather than an important tool in keeping employees safe and setting them up for success.

Since March 2019, schools have been facing a new frontier?—?remote learning. After packing up classrooms and settling into new teaching settings like living rooms and kitchen tables, teachers, students and parents are beginning to question whether this is the start of a drastic change in the education system. Although we are probably years away from a definitive answer to this question, it is clear that these challenging times have dramatically increased the interest in remote learning options.
Speaker: Treion Muller, Chief Strategy Officer at ELB Learning
Since when has learning and development (L&D) become such a negative experience with its intended learners? Could it be because learners have been conditioned by very poor learning experiences over the past two decades, combined with the kinks of technological innovation? Or is it because learning has typically been designed as a one-size-fits-all solution, despite the fact that humans are not clones?

At this year’s all-digital CES 2021, Panasonic showed off a new and improved version of the device, which packs in some pretty intriguing specs alongside the ne

Smartglasses manufacturer Vuzix was in talks with ARPost to do a profile piece about a year ago. The article never ended up happening. Some of us might have even taken it personally.
